Carmeon Hamilton is a designer based in Memphis, TN who describes herself as “a lover of all things beautiful.” Carmeon’s designs focus on clean lines, texture, contrast, and plant life. We caught up with Carmeon to talk about her Memphis home where she used Sunbrella fabrics to maximize her outdoor living area.
Creating an Outdoor Living Room
In 2022, Carmeon upgraded her small outdoor patio area with an expansive custom-built deck. The elevated deck features lounge seating and a dining area furnished with products made with Sunbrella fabrics. Carmeon added a custom pergola covering from ShadeTree made with Sunbrella fabric.
For her lower patio area, Carmeon wanted to build out the outdoor space and create an extension of her living room, designing a space to entertain family and friends all throughout the year.
Outdoor Furniture with a Modern Feel
To create this outdoor living space, Carmeon chose the Laken Outdoor Sectional from One Kings Lane and the Dune Black Outdoor Swivel Lounge Chairs from Crate & Barrel, all upholstered with Sunbrella fabrics.
She completed the space with the Kersey 18” Sunbrella Pillow in Ocean, the Levi Outdoor Lumbar Pillow in Black/White, and the Frances Color-Block Pillow in Black, all from One Kings Lane and made with Sunbrella fabric.
Stunning Style with Durability that Lasts
Carmeon explains the “must-have” for her lower patio area was soft, comfortable seating that was easy to maintain. Similarly, her “never-want-to-haves” were pieces that required too much maintenance or precious treatment. Pieces made with Sunbrella fabric were the obvious choice for her outdoor living room, with comfortable, easy to clean fabrics that are built for long-lasting durability.
Carmeon’s outdoor living area achieved an ideal mix of style and functionality that provides the perfect setting for entertaining family and friends. She explains, “For this project I let the furniture speak for itself, I wanted to keep the space simple while still being inviting.” Carmeon’s lower patio is the epitome of outdoor living, serving as a highly functional and intentional outdoor extension of her living space.
