Versatile 3-in-1 Construction
Most Sunbrella drapery styles include our 3-in-1 construction which offers three hanging options: rod pocket, back tab, or clip rings.
A rod pocket is a drapery header that is sewn at the top of the fabric to make a pocket in which a rod can slip through. This creates a space where the rod can be hidden and hung with no hardware necessary. Drapery panels hung this way bunch nicely and have a casual look.
Our 3-in-1 construction also features back tabs. Back tab curtains have tabs or loops sewn onto the back of the curtain header. The rod slips through the tabs so that neither is visible from the front. This gives the drapery a more textured appearance with more pronounced folds to the panel as it hangs.
Because the curtain rod slips through tabs across the upper, back side of the panels, the full length of the curtains does not fall below the rod. If the curtains are a bit too long for the window or for the look you desire, hanging them from the back tabs raises the hem a bit.
One of the most popular methods for hanging drapery is curtain clip rings. Clip rings are clipped to the top edge of the drapery panel with rings sliding over the rod. Hanging drapery with clip rings makes them easy to open and close and provides a more custom style with a variety of options to complete your look. Clip rings are sold separately.
