Sarah Vickers’ Home Office Makeover

Entrepreneur and style blogger, Sarah Vickers, renovated her multi-functional home office with Sunbrella. She transformed the room from a catch-all storage space to a beautiful home office with a desk with built-in shelving and a cozy nook with comfortable seating for working and relaxing.

Sarah transformed her storage space into a beautiful home office.

This long and narrow room includes a charming nook located under a set of stairs that leads to the second floor. Sarah chose the Hartwell Upholstered Apartment Striped Sofa from Ballard Designs for this space.

The cozy sofa is plush and comfortable for humans and dogs alike.

Upholstered in Sunbrella fabric, this plush and comfortable sofa is easy to clean. This sofa served as the central focus of the design and helped Sarah plan her color scheme – shades of taupe, cream, orange, brown, and blue. To give the sofa a pop of color, Sarah added a couple of custom-made throw pillows in Sunbrella Canvas Rust and Sunbrella Shibori Indigo.

The built-in shelves and wall desk create a functional working space, paired with the fun cheetah pattern upholstered chair from Ballard Designs.

For the built-in wall desk, Sarah chose the Oval Back Louis XVI Armchair in Sunbrella Cheetah Taupe from Ballard Designs. Every detail on the chair can be customized from the wood color to the nail heads, and of course the Sunbrella fabric. The chair, with its rich details and cheetah pattern, is an elegant addition to the desk space that adds an elevated touch.

Sarah chose several pieces of furniture from Ballard Designs, all with Sunbrella fabric for her home office.

The Maggie Chair and Ottoman from Ballard Designs in Sunbrella Sailcloth Sailor was a perfect neutral addition to the corner of Sarah’s office. She wanted a more subdued style to offset some of the busier layered patterns in the other areas of the room. This chair was also dressed up with a custom throw pillow made with Sunbrella Lattice Taupe fabric.

Sarah layered patterns and colors to create a bold, unique space.

Sarah completed the office space with the HRI Sunbrella Cream Beige 8×10 Rug. Pulling in all the colors of the room, this durable, easy to clean rug is made using 100% Sunbrella yarns. “I can’t get over how much I love this rug,” explained Sarah. “Upholding the quality that Sunbrella is known for, it can’t be stained by spills or pet accidents — music to my ears with a five-year-old and two pups at home!”
