Giada De Laurentiis, an Emmy award-winning television personality and successful restauranteur, recently completed a full makeover of her new Los Angeles home. She worked with Sunbrella to outfit both her backyard and updated pool house.
De Laurentiis designed the new space so that the house and yard surround and encompass the pool area. "I wanted the ability to sort of live indoor-outdoor, that was my big thing," she said. "I mean, that's the beauty of living here in California is taking advantage of the outdoor space."
Giada's Poolside Pairings
To complete the outdoor pool area, De Laurentiis used several pieces from the RH Balmain Teak Collection. Her space includes chaise lounges, a daybed, swivel lounge chairs, and RH Portofino dining armchairs. The poolside chaise set up is shaded by the Agora Rectangular Teak Umbrella.
Famous for her hosting prowess, De Laurentiis also made sure that the backyard would be entertaining-friendly for years to come, with easy-to-clean Sunbrella fabrics engineered with color-to-the-core technology to prevent fading and signs of wear.
“I have three pets and I have a child and the pets run on everything and kids spill stuff... so comfort and easy to clean was really important.”
Bringing the Outdoors In
De Laurentiis says her detached pool house is her favorite part of her new backyard. "The pool house is really special to both myself and my daughter because I created a cozy little vibe where she could hang out with her friends," says De Laurentiis.
She took a couch from a previous house and reupholstered it with Sunbrella Piazza Cloud. She added the PILAR Charcoal, TRAZA Birch, and LAZO Granite outdoor pillows from Sien + Co. and completed the space with the Braid Rug from Neighbor.
