How to Clean Sunbrella Curtains and Drapery
Like all Sunbrella products and fabrics, Sunbrella indoor window treatments are designed to beautifully withstand everyday living. When it’s time for a seasonal home refresh, our low-maintenance, machine-washable curtains and drapes make cleaning a breeze.
Easy-to-Clean Indoor Drapery
One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella drapery looking good is to clean spills soon after they occur and brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabric. The quicker you clean spills, the easier they can be to remove. Follow these simple steps to clean your Sunbrella curtains and drapes.
How to Clean Sunbrella Drapery
- Blot (don't rub) liquid spills with a clean, dry cloth.
- For oil based spills, apply an absorbent, such as cornstarch, directly on the spill. Let sit for 10 minutes and remove the excess using a straight edge.
- Spray on a mild cleaning solution of soap and water or use our Sunbrella Clean™ Multi-Purpose Fabric Cleaner.
- Rinse the fabric thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Allow to air dry.
If a stubborn oil based stain persists after cleaning, use Sunbrella Extract™ Oil Based Stain Remover or treat with a strong degreaser and rinse thoroughly.
