Warranty FAQ

Q: I believe I have a warranty claim for my Sunbrella fabric. Whom do I contact?

A: Sunbrella is normally a component of an end product, such as a cushion, umbrella, boat cover, awning, etc. If you are a consumer seeking warranty service, please contact the dealer, retailer or fabricator from whom you purchased the end product.

For manufacturers, fabricators or other trade partners, please contact your Glen Raven sales or customer service representative for warranty claims.

Q: Does my warranty cover mildew?

A: If your Sunbrella fabric has mildew or mold, it can be easily removed. Visit our cleaning page for helpful instructions. Mildew grows on dirt, pollen and other organic matter, so simple routine cleanings will prevent mildew from forming.

Q: What is abrasion?

A: Abrasion refers to surface wear of fabric caused by rubbing, which can shorten the life of the fabric. Sunbrella’s performance fabrics are abrasion-resistant and designed to withstand this surface wear.

Q: What’s the difference between pilling and fuzziness or hairiness?

A: Pilling is the formation of tiny balls of fibers on the surface of a fabric, which can occur in high-traffic areas when long, strong fibers on the surface of the fabric become entangled. Hairiness or fuzziness results from fibers moving to the surface of the fabric and is a natural characteristic of a ring-spun yarn, but does not result in the formation of pilling.

Q: What’s the difference between Sunbrella Shade & Marine Fabrics and other Sunbrella fabrics?

A: Our awning and marine canvas is engineered for shade structures and marine covers and tops, and features a very stiff, tight construction and a heavy finish. Our furniture & upholstery fabrics are engineered to offer softness, comfort and flexibility for seating and other furniture applications.
