Orlando Soria, a designer based in Los Angeles, CA, recently completed a total refresh of his living room in “Londo Lodge,” his home located near Yosemite. New sofas, a new rug, and new pillows made with Sunbrella fabrics brightened up the living room of his home to create a fresh, inviting space. Orlando focuses on personal details for his design approach, always working to translate and exemplify personality within a space.
Orlando explains, “my ideal house is one that has a good deal of history, with pretty millwork and architectural details, filled with modern, sculptural furniture and contemporary art.”
Creating a Cozy Living Room
Orlando chose two sofas from Maiden Home to create his cozy living room seating area. The Warren Sofa anchors the space with a light grey performance basketweave fabric called Frost. Subtle detailing and perfect proportions make it an endlessly versatile piece.
The Muir Sofa sits beneath a bright open window, receiving lots of natural light. Crafted with artisanal woodworking and expertly tailored, high-end comfort. Its striking silhouette features a built-in side table for a mixed material work of art.
The Perfect Details
Orlando outfitted his cozy living room space with several custom Sunbrella fabric pillows. Layering textures and patterns in neutral shades of white and grey with pops of indigo and blue helped complete the inviting look.
Much like Orlando’s recently renovated backyard, having resilient, pet-friendly fabrics was an absolute must. Orlando’s dog, Saturday Soria, spends plenty of time lounging in this cozy space, so the sofa fabrics needed to hold up to dirt or wear and tear.
