A Functional Indoor Living Space
Lauren’s must-haves for this cozy, multi-functional family space were a large sofa and cleanable, pet- and kid-friendly fabrics. Above all else, it was essential that this design was comfortable and practical for the family of 6. While Lauren had a specific look in mind for this space, the number one priority was creating a space with purpose and function.
Lauren’s Picks
To complete the family indoor living space, Lauren chose the York Slope Arm sofa from Pottery Barn in Sunbrella Performance Slub Tweed White. This extra-large sofa is the perfect fit for the family living space with beautiful style and cozy comfort.
Lauren also chose the LAZO floor cushions from Sien+Co in Snow. “They’re so incredibly soft and cozy (and easy to clean!),” explains Lauren. These cozy cushions stand up to constant attention from kids and pets and can be easily stored away when they aren’t being used – the perfect blend of functionality and style.
Lastly, Lauren chose a soft brown, neutral Sunbrella rug by Colonial Mills in color Wheat to tie the space together. The soft neutral tone allows the white sofa and floor cushions to pop without being too loud. Durable, easy-to-clean, and stylish, this rug is the finishing touch to the family living space.
Lauren’s Design Process
Lauren describes her design process as starting with one or two standout pieces and then adding layers from there. Her personal style includes a love for monochromatic spaces and layering textures to add interest.
Lauren’s advice when planning a space is to identify your “must-haves” (like ample seating with kid- and pet-friendly fabrics!) and start building your vision from there.
