Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, the makers of Sunbrella brand performance fabrics, has launched a new collection of furniture weight fabrics that are specifically designed for marine interiors and for other decorative fabric applications for powerboat owners and sailors.
The initial introduction of the Sunbrella Yachting Collection includes 57 Sunbrella fabrics, featuring solids, stripes and jacquard woven patterns. Traditional marine colors of navy, green and red are combined with neutrals in white and taupe, offering marine fabricators and OEMs an assortment of fabrics for styling and design opportunities above and below deck.
“The design of these fabrics is classic and timeless,” said Paige Mullis, marine specialist with Glen Raven. “This line features our latest innovations in yarn colors and textures, opening up opportunities for sophisticated styling, yet grounded in a traditional marine look and feel.”
In creating the Yachting Collection, Glen Raven leveraged its experience with furniture fabrics, while addressing the special needs of the marine market.
“The great thing about the Yachting Collection is its focus on the unique requirements of boat owners,” said Derek Robinson, Glen Raven marine market manager. “We have consulted with OEMs, marine fabricators and boat owners in developing this line, and the initial reaction has been very positive.”
