Volunteers Make Sunbrella Dog Beds

January 11, 2011 by Sue R

It’s a cold, icy day outside of the Sunbrella offices and all I can think of is curling up in a warm place away from the draft and chill of the freshly fallen sleet. I can’t imagine being exposed to the elements in this kind of weather.

A group of volunteers in Sumner County, Tennessee had the same idea when in December they made 50 elevated dog beds for the forthcoming opening of a new animal shelter in their neck of the woods. All the materials were donated and Sunbrella awning fabric was used for the bedding.

From the looks of things, dogs who get these beds will be lounging in style. And the shelter will love the comfort and cleanability of the Sunbrella fabrics. Kudos to a group of selfless dog lovers!

  1. Sandy Price says:

Let me know how to donate my sunbrella end rolls.

  2. Gene says:

Sandy, the organization who created the dog beds and who facilitated the donation of the Sunbrella fabric is unknown to us. We’ve sent an inquiry to our Tennessee sales representative to see if he can discover who it might have been and whether the project will be repeated this year.
