Joe Ruggiero is no stranger to the road and recently took his World of Design program to the design community in Cleveland. While there, he held a lunch and learn with a small group of interior designers where he shared design tips and led discussion on ways to generate business in these tough economic times. In addition to the latest design trends, Joe discussed the creative influences that inspire his work and also the growing popularity of Sunbrella performance fabrics for home interiors.

Joe notes, “I have been traveling throughout the United States these past months, meeting home furnishings customers and interior designers.  I really enjoy getting to meet those people who buy my products and want to ask questions about design trends, color trends and ideas for decorating their homes.  I have seen no recession of eager homeowners who truly want to protect their investment by improving their homes. ”

Joe confesses, “It always amazes me how many people are not aware of the wide variety of Sunbrella fabrics for interior use and what a great performance product it is for families who really what to live in their homes with easy-care, heavy-wear fabrics that make every room a living room.  My wife and I have raised three children and many pets (cats, dogs and even a rabbit) and have been using Sunbrella brand fabrics for over twenty years.  Now that I am designing fabrics for Sunbrella, I am excited about the damasks, chenilles and satin-like looks we have been able to create for the most discerning home enthusiasts.”

At a larger event on the same junket, Joe spoke to a throng of design professionals. Program highlights included his travels with HGTV’s Homes Across America and visits to varied lands where he uses the local culture as influence for his design ideas. Featured at this event were Sunbrella fabrics for his line of Woodard casual furniture, Harwick. After the program, Design Resources Inc. treated the group to champagne and desserts. Yum!

Clever design ideas, good food and comradery among a very competitive group – sounds like the events were a success for everyone involved!
