Greenspiration Project in Greensboro, NC Features Sunbrella

It’s refreshing to hear of a GREEN project that wasn’t initiated by a home builder, commercial firm, architect or government official – but by someone whose primary interest is in a safe and comfortable environment for their family all the while with energy efficiency and earth friendly in mind.

The Holder-Raines family has done just that by collaborating with their builder and furnishings providers to create a home that sits within the confines of a typical suburban neighborhood but is anything but typical in terms of its sustainability. They refer to it as Greenspiration.

Owner Trish Holder told Sunbrella, “Greenspiration is all about realistic, family friendly living. Sunbrella fabrics are perfect for family because they are so very durable. Sunbrella was a perfect choice for recovering the bar stools and breakfast room furniture; areas that will no doubt suffer more than their share of spills!”

Trish added, “During my tours I like to point out that the application of Sunbrella in the tray ceilings in the bedroom actually helps deaden the noise factor from all the wood floors. We don’t have any carpet really (except in one room) because wood floors are better for indoor air quality. The downside is that they are noisy – so the fabric treatment in the master bedroom isn’t just beautiful, it actually serves a very practical purpose.”

On Wednesday, April 29 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., an interior design event is being held at the Greenspiration Home for all professionals in the interior design field. Transportation will be available in the Transportation Terminal in High Point, NC – directly outside of the IHFC Building on Commerce Avenue. Check here for more details.
