Velvet In The Family Room – This Is Not A Joke

Velvet has long been considered a luxury fabric confined to the most elaborate of settings where the inclination is to put plastic over it if anyone is planning to sit. Sounds rather counterproductive but fits our Grandmother’s criteria for appropriate seating policies especially when children are involved.
This policy no longer stands to reason since Sunbrella has added Velvets to their collection of performance fabrics. This velvet can even be used outside! This velvet can even be cleaned with soap and water – or even bleach for the toughest of stains.

We recovered the sofa in our family room in Sunbrella velvet about six months ago, and it has been terrific. Two skylights in the ceiling had faded the old sofa where the sun went across the sky each day. This piece of furniture gets more use than any in our house, and it’s holding up beautifully.
