Glen Raven Introducing New Awning Fabrics During IFAI

2006.10.31

Glen Raven Custom Fabrics will debut 14 new awning fabrics during the IFAI Expo in October. The new offerings feature classic Sunbrella designs with a creative blend of traditional colors and updated hues for today's homeowners.

"Visitors to our booth at IFAI will see new interpretations of Sunbrella awning classics. Our new collection features fabrics with a timeless look, yet with a modern punch of color," said Gina Wicker, design director for Glen Raven. "These fabrics will give awning fabricators fresh looks to offer their customers."

Leading the awning fabric introductions are two solid colors, Granite and Parchment. Granite is a dark heather grey that is based on the popularity of Glen Raven's top selling awning color, black. Parchment is a light neutral, also with a heather look.

"We are offering Granite and Parchment in 46 and 60-inch widths because we believe these fabrics will be popular for awning and marine applications," Wicker said.

Awning stripe introductions begin with a pattern named Ashford available in two color combinations. Ashford Cardinal has a wide henna stripe as the dominant color using navy and vellum to create its design, while Ashford Forest has fern green as its base color with the same navy and vellum creating the pattern.

Cooper is truly a classic awning stripe featuring two narrow stripes against a wide solid background. Cooper Black uses wheat as the accent stripe while Cooper Navy is accented with white. The new Cooper design is a clean, distinct pattern that could be used in marine applications as well as awning.

Eastridge Cocoa is a multi-striped fabric using a stria pattern in its design. Solid Cocoa is accented with wheat and henna then intermingled with the stria stripe creating a striking effect that will be ideal for brick, wood or siding facades.

Hatteras Raven is a medium-scaled, mirrored stripe combining classic colors black, grey and burgundy. The Hatteras pattern harkens back to traditional Sunbrella awning styling.

Another simple stripe pattern in the heritage of traditional Sunbrella styling is Havelock. Havelock was designed with a light neutral background accented with tweed shoulder stripes and is available in three colors; Havelock Terracotta, Havelock Juniper and Havelock Brick.

Awning introductions conclude with the pattern Manteo, a stripe inspired by one of Glen Raven's best selling furniture patterns. This asymmetrical stripe is available in two colorways; Manteo Cardinal featuring red as its dominant color and Manteo Olive, which features a yellow-cast green. Both stripes are accented with brown and wheat.

"These additions, along with our existing styles, continue to place Sunbrella brand fabric as the leading performance fabric in quality, styling, selection and design," Wicker said.
