During this year's IFAI Expo, Glen Raven Custom Fabrics will debut 80-inch widths of seven of its most popular solid colors for awning and marine applications. The makers of Sunbrella fabrics will also feature new color combinations of Sunbrella Supreme, a premium marine fabric for Biminis and boat enclosures.
The wider fabrics are being offered in black, captain navy, toast, Pacific blue, burgundy, ocean blue and cadet gray.
"These wider fabrics are the result of requests from some of our marine fabricators who saw the advantage of an 80-inch width in terms of increased efficiency in fabrication and an enhanced seamless look," said Derek Robinson, marine products manager for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. "Our awning fabricators are also enthusiastic about these wider fabrics for the same reasons - more efficient awning installations and a smoother, seamless look."
Other enhancements in Glen Raven's marine offerings that will debut at the IFAI Expo are two new versions of Sunbrella Supreme. Supreme is a two-sided marine fabric, with a regular Sunbrella face and a flocked under-side, creating an elegant look underneath Biminis and boat tops. Sunbrella Supreme is also highly water repellant.
"Our new Sunbrella Supreme offerings are two-tone fabrics, forest green/linen and burgundy/linen," Robinson said. "This expansion of the line gives us a total of four two-tone looks, the other two being black/linen and captain navy/linen. Linen has been popular as the flocking color in our existing two-tone fabrics because it brightens up the area beneath the Biminis which resulted in these new introductions."
