Sunbrella® Marine Fabrics Launches Sunbrella® Web-Based TV Show

2006.05.15

The Sunbrella marine fabrics team at Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has launched a new web-based TV show, "Monthly Charter." The podcast format includes news, features and profiles, all designed to support awareness of new developments with marine fabrics, while also profiling boat builders.

"The podcast is a new way for us to talk about Sunbrella fabrics and add excitement to the brand," said Derek Robinson, marine products manager. "We also believe that podcast technology will help us introduce Sunbrella marine fabrics to a new generation of boaters."

The podcast series, which is being produced by Robinson and Paige Mullis, Sunbrella marine specialist, is scheduled to air monthly at www.sunbrella.com. The web site will include current programs as well as archives of previous editions. The first show was posted last week.

The Sunbrella podcast is organized into three segments - "Sunbrella Destinations," which is a report of industry news and events, "Glen Raven Wake Report," which features the latest in company products, services and innovative thinking, and "Boat Builders Making Waves," which profiles a boat builder. The first edition features a boat makeover in the opening segment, while the Wake Report focuses on Sunbrella Shade, a new light-filtering marine fabric from Glen Raven. The boat builder profile features Shearline Boat Works of Morehead City, N.C.

"In future issues we will address issues such as skin cancer and the need for sun protection, care and cleaning of Sunbrella fabrics and reports from boat shows around the country and internationally," Mullis said. "We designed the format so that we can be flexible in covering stories that we believe will be of interest to consumers as well as the boating industry."
