Richard Frinier, one of the country's leading home furnishings designers, has received an ADEX Silver Award for his Savanna collection of Sunbrella performance fabrics. The ADEX Awards Competition is the largest and most prestigious awards program for the design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.
Frinier's Savanna collection represents an entirely new direction in tonal-texture design for the performance fabrics category, combining the classic look of a basket weave pattern with a sophisticated and fashionable color palette. Woven from Sunbrella yarns, the elegant collection offers all of Sunbrella's legendary performance characteristics.
"My goal in creating Savanna was to strike a balance between tonal-texture and uncomplicated styling," Frinier said. "The surface texture creates visual interest, while the rich range of colors makes it authentic. The incredible soft-hand finish makes this line of textiles appealing and practical for today's lifestyles and a smart choice for indoor and outdoor applications."
Savanna Collection patterns include L'Elephant and Dakar. L'Elephant is based on Frinier's sketching of elephant ear plants in large scale, while the famous Paris-to-Dakar race was the inspiration for the Dakar pattern.
