Phoenix Trim Works, a major supplier of decorative trimmings to home furnishings manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada, has been licensed to produce a line of products under the Sunbrella brand name.
The company's initial offering of cords, fringe, braids, bullion, tie-backs and tassels will complement Sunbrella fabrics created by Joe Ruggiero, a nationally-recognized home furnishing design leader. Phoenix Trim also recently signed a licensing agreement with Ruggiero.
"Our customers who manufacture and sell outdoor and other performance-oriented products appreciate the value of the Sunbrella brand, and we are pleased to offer the use of the Sunbrella logo to them," said Bill Gibbons, CEO of Phoenix Trim Works. "Phoenix is honored to be the newest member of the Glen Raven team."
Phoenix Trim Works of Williamsport, Penn. is a privately-owned company founded in 2000 to manufacture products for home furnishings, as well as the marine and recreational vehicle industries. The company also serves decorative jobbers and retail stores.
Phoenix is a fully integrated manufacturer/distributor of narrow knits, twisted cords, fringe, bullion, tassels, chair ties and tiebacks. Primary production facilities are in north central Pennsylvania, with partners also located in China and the Caribbean. Phoenix products are sold through 17 independent sales agents and three showrooms: High Point, N.C., Tupelo, Miss. and Lakewood, Calif.
"The need for Sunbrella trims has grown steadily with the growth of Sunbrella fabrics in home furnishings applications," said Dave Swers, furniture products manager for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, the makers of Sunbrella fabrics. "Phoenix will be an excellent resource to the trade for trimmings that complement the colors and design aesthetics of our fabrics and assure Sunbrella performance characteristics."
